It is a comeback after a long time.
Nara I'm really nervous because it's our comeback after 1 year and half. It is fun nowadays to be able to relieve my thirst for stage.
Yooyoung We have released several digital singles in the meantime but it feels me with emotions because it has been a while since we did album promotion. As much as the effort that went while making the album for a long time, we want to show our musical growth.
Seoyoung I am sad that we only have about a week of album activity. We made a lot of new attempts through this album, but I wonder how it would shine? I still don't know. What do they think of Hello Venus.
Yeoreum I hope they'll treat us with favor.

Personally, the mysterious concept of this album was fun. The genre of title song 'Mysterious' which is called retro wing came fresh. Once we heard it, we kept on thinking of it.
Alice The song is more better the more you listen to it.
Nara It is our song, but the whistling sound at the beginning of the song is very good. I fall for it as soon as I listened to the song guide.
Yooyoung It's a somewhat unfamiliar genre called retro swing-style pop dancing, so it was hard to match the rhythm while recording. I think I'm the one who did the recording the most. It's edited for three time and I also changed my part. Anyway, I made a long recording. I have the first recording in my phone. When I listen to it, I even think 'Ah...There has been tremendous progress.'
Seoyoung I also had difficulty in getting the rhythm. When I put wave with my body, I honestly have a little breathing. So live practice was a bit difficult.

Rather, it seemed you are more skillful on stage compared to before.
Nara Then it is a success! We want to show a little more mature appearance musically and externally.

Who is the most mysterious character among the six members?
(All) Yeoreum!
The reason?
Yooyoung First, Yeoreum is unpredictable. She has tireless energy and enthusiasm. She really lives up to her name.
Yeoreum I agree. I'm the youngest with unpredictable unique personality(Laugh).

It's been six years since you debuted. Now you're a respectable girl group.
Alice Everyone said like that (laugh).
Lime I was really surprised because we were next to Shinhwa's waiting room comeback week.
Nara As we are not a group that often has activities, we feel like we are still a rookie. All of us don't know what to do when the juniors greet us. It's still awkward.
Yooyoung It is really strange that there are so many junior singers these days. I feel more and more responsible and I think I need to do better. One year was different and two years were different. There are things to learn every time.

We think now is the time for Hello Venus to show their potential.
Yooyoung I think we should try harder anyway. Now Nara unnie is showing good light. Thanks to that energy, we're working hard and when each of us works harder, I think that the whole team will get attention.

It's good to see that you don't want to be in a hurry. There are many girl group. What do you think is the charm of Hello Venus, which is different from other teams?
Alice If the other girl groups are the juicy fruit, we are more mature like fruit syrup and I think we have our own experienced charm(Laugh).

It's a fantastic analogy.
Alice All of our members are very nice. We had long hiatus, but I saw them doing individual activity or improving their lacking during that time and I was proud as a leader. They live sincerely without being forced and they do not make things that are offensive to each other. So I think we can get along fine for a long time.

All the members can sing and act. Do you want to try something new?
Alice This time I participated in my second musical. I want to learn more because it is a field that combines acting and singing.
Seoyoung I studying hard because I want to do musical like Alice unnie.
Nara I was lucky enough to get an opportunity to film an independent film. It was so fun that I want to try it again. The more I act, the more fun it is and the more I want to do it.
Lime I'm in charge of rap in our team but I have not been able to show it properly yet. I want to make a lot of mixtape work to show my music and I want to perform too.

As Venus is the name of the team, we are curious about the standard of beauty that each of you thinks.
Yeoreum It's a hard question. Well...Beauty is? Hello Venus? It's a joke(Laugh).
Seoyoung We can look beautiful when giving the feeling of stimulating maternal love
Lime Probably this is because I enjoy watching drama <Shin Saimdang> recently, I think Lee Young Ae can become the representative for Korean beauty.
Alice There is no outward standard, and I think those who have a clear self-control look nice and beautiful.
Yooyoung I agree.
Nara A woman who care for herself. I think those who always take internally or externally, look beautiful.

So when is this time you look pretty?
Yooyoung & Lime It's when we wear make-up.
Yeoreum When I erase the make for one of my eyes and look at mirror. When my original eyes are revealed, I feel like 'I'm quite alright though?'(laugh).
Alice When I went out to the bath. It's only 20 minutes, but I can't look that pretty because the swelling subsides.
Lime When I sweat and exercise.
Nara The bright face seems to look pretty when I remove the mask pack. I'm happy at that time (laugh).
Alice I think Nara is the prettiest when she eats. She looks really happy. Her complexion changes when she eats her favorite food (Laugh).

It's the last question. What do you think is your difference on and out of stage?
Yooyoung The fans already know, there is a difference in my tone between broadcast and normal voice. I have bright and energetic voice when I'm on stage but actually I'm not talkative. I like to listen mainly so my quiet feeling is strong outside the stage.
Yeoreum There is no big difference, but there is also a surprisingly chic and calm appearance for me (laugh).
Seoyoung I think I can be daring on stage. I think I show everything that cannot be shown on daily life when I'm on stage.
Lime I look cool when I'm on stage but I'm actually quite timid. My feeling is easily hurt. I always tell the older ones, but I have a lot of feminine aspect. I look easy-going but I'm more soft-hearted than you thought.
Nara I often heard that I look chic when I don't smile, but I think I show my natural appearance when I was on variety show recently. I'm clumsy (laugh).
Alice As I'm a leader, I often heard that I look cold and strong, but I tend to really nervous. I just don't say it. Even though I'm not always like that, I'm especially more sensitive and nervous when I'm on stage. It feels like I have a new chest. So before going on stage, I always do mind control. Anyway, we want to become always mysterious Hello Venus, the more you know, the more you become curious!

Last year, you played the role of Sandra in musical <All Shook Up>.

I was lucky enough to get a good opportunity to participate in 'All Shook Up'. There were a lot of things that were difficult and unfamiliar because it was my first time but the seniors and fellow actors helped me a lot. I am really thankful to senior Park Jung Ah too.

You must be really nervous because it was your first musical.

Of course. I'm really nervous usually but it's my first musical and my breathing is short. The performance for music show is 3 minutes while the performance for musical is 2 hours. I'm afraid that I'll make mistake because of nervous so I did not release the script until the last performance. The seniors laughed when they saw me like that. They said "It's the last day. Can't you go on the stage without looking at it?".

Before debuting, you were a vocalist in Hongdae band.

I often go on my off day. I go to cafe and go to see a lot of performances. I go to Daehangno too sometimes. I think I like those ambiance. I don't like crowded places at first but when youngsters go to crowded place, they are cheerful. When I have time, I go to cool off.

Say a word as Hello Venus leader.

It's always awkward to say something like we have good relationship. I'm the youngest at house so at first I started Hello Venus at an awkward age to become a leader. I would have been far from perfect but thank you so much for my sisters to come along and trust me. Ah why am I so sad suddenly. I think I'm going to cry. There are many things to learn from my sisters and I am very happy to meet these members.

How do you manage your body shape usually?

I exercise with empty stomach. However, if I can not exercise because of the schedule, I eat lots of lunch and dinner. At that time, I'm filled with a fist of cereal and low fat milk. Even if I do not go to the gym, I do my home training with spreading yoga mat and mainly do abdominal exercises or hip exercises.

You said in an interview that you want to learn Muay Thai. Why Muay Thai?

Ever since I was little, I got sick frequently. I have asthma too. So I like exercise. If I learn Muay Thai, I can exercise and use it for my own protection. But I have not learned it yet.

Unlike your chic image, you show easy going appearance in variety show and the viewers' reaction were good.

A lot of people said when I do not open my mouth, they thought I was cold and harsh but my appearance in Law of the Jungle or Flower Crew were my usual personality. And unlike what you see, I am neither sensitive nor dull. (Laugh)

You showed your first acting in <Fantasy of the Girls>.

When I saw the result, I feel regret like 'I should do like this at this time. I should do like that'. However, rather than before filming, it was natural to study acting while shooting a movie. While shooting, my desire for acting has increased. I had no experience and I was lacking but I received a lot of helps from Jung Ui (Noh Jung Ui) and Soo Hyang unnie (Jo Soo Hyang). I really did not know anything but the staff also took care of me very well.

You make the rap by yourself and you participated in making the rap for this album too. You 

said you were inspired by Catwoman.

I only participated in 'Mysterious' only out of the 4 songs. The concept was a secret agent, so I remembered the secret and mysterious Catwoman. I wanted to express something like the cat seemed to sneak out.

You look boyish but what is your real personality?

A lot of people think like that when they look the surface. I'm really feminine. I have feeling like good wife, wise mother. (Laugh) I can cook, I like to wash dishes, and enjoys making side dishes and cleaning. It has a lot of sensitivity and many tears.

You enjoyed housework? We can't imagine it.

When I am at home, I always try to do something. So I often cook for the members at our hostel. I feel proud like a mother's heart when I see them enjoying my cooking.

What kind of cooking do you well?

I am confident in Western food like pasta, risotto and etc. I can also make sauce like Caesar dressing by myself. Aren't I really the best prospective bride? (Laugh)

Seoyoung

You have a shooting with feminine clothes but what is your usual fashion style?

I usually do not wear well but I like the feminine style like dress or the skirt that I wore for shooting today.

We heard that you have the biggest love for fans among the members. Do you have a memorable fan?

There are too many fans left in my impression. They can be upset if I choose only one. What should I do? They will understand because they're my fans right? Please understand, everyone. Urm. Ah! I have a diary that I always bring. It is a diary made by my fans with my pictures taken while I go to event or schedule. I write my schedule and journal in the diary. It's special because it's only one and it's given by my fans.

We are curious of what do you do when you don't have activity.

I usually enjoy the time alone. I eat well alone. I make sure to go shopping together with my friends or the members but while I watch or concentrate on something and I want to organize my own thoughts, I go to watch movies. Before this, I also went to watch opera alone but nowadays I am attracted to musicals.

We heard that you majored in vocal music during your school days. Personally do you have music or genre you want to do ?

Musical! I'm doing music now but someday I will definitely challenge in musical. So when I watch Alice unnie's performance, I felt vicarious satisfaction and received a lot of stimulation.

We know that you're the most sentimental among the members. In fact, we were surprised to 

hear that because your image looks chic

What? Did I look chic? I'm the youngest in my house and I'm in the youngest line within our team so if we're close enough, you can see I have a lot of cuteness. Actually all our members are sentimental and kind. But my emotional assimilation rate is fast so when sad scene comes out during watching drama, I can cry in 3 seconds even though I don't know the contents at all.

But it's surprising that you enjoy horror movie.

This is my charm. (Laugh) I cannot watch cruel things. But I feel anxious and enjoy watching the scenes where ghosts pop out or surprising scenes like thriller.

You said you like all rice cakes except white rice cake. Why white rice cake?

I'm also curious. When it comes to white rice cake, it is just such a stereotype that the inside is dry. So it is the only rice cake that I don't eat even though it's fresh.

We heard that when you were in the showcase, you said for 6th year debut every time you are forgotten, you went into fan cafe and gain strength from fans. What is the most powerful post?

This preparation period was a little long this time. The fans are also waiting for news and curious about us but we don't have activity and it's more tiring if I practice alone at time like that. Then I go to fan cafe and read the letters left by the fans. 'Never say it's hard, if the road that you go is a cobbled road, we'll be the fan who filled that bumpy road so believe us and don't give up' These words are really touching and it made me pledge that I have to be successful for my fans.

Yeoreum

In eating show episode of self-produced entertainment video 'HVTV Wow! It's Yeoreum', you ate jjajangmyeon like you almost want to inhale it. You seem to be good in eating show. What is your favourite food?

Actually I was on diet at the time. So the moment I saw and smell the jjajangmyeon, I lost my rationality and I was inhaling it. I especially like flour and I love pizza the best among them. I can get through for a month with only one garlic sauce from Namja Pizza located in Yeoksam. Ah, but can I said the brand?

This time, the response is good for your new hairstyle. Especially the fans' praise did not end in V app.

I personally preferred face with bangs. I'm young now but I made my debut when I was 19 years old so I'm afraid my maknae image will be strong if I even have bangs. I dyed my hair red, change the parting and did a lot of styling. Now my mature beauty appears at some level so I cut my bangs. Don't I look cute and mature at the same time? I think like that. (Laugh)

You had your first acting with web drama <To Be Continued>. At that time, you said you meet Seo Kang Joon and learnt a lot from him. You were together also for this MV. How was the shooting set atmosphere?

When Kang Joon oppa came, all the female staffs got up and began to take a picture of the monitor screen. We were tired because it was dawn and almost the last scene but the mood was lively again. It was a scene where Yooyoung unnie and I secretly looked at Kangjoon oppa. I'm worried of how should I feel but Kangjoon oppa kindly informed me 'Yeoreum, I think it's good if you do like this. I learned a lot during <To Be Continued> and music video shooting.

You have slender body which is envied by women.
Originally my frame is thin and skinny but as I grew older, I lose my baby fat. I think I lose a lot of weight so recently I am working out for maintaining my body shape.

What kind of exercise are you doing?
Recently I started horse riding. I thought I just have to sit on the horse but everything has its manner from communicating with the horse to sitting on the saddle. It was more fun than I thought.  It has been a while that I did pilates. I started to do it twice a week for 3 years. I hurt my legs during Hello Venus promotion, at that time I got recommended to do pilates as rehabilitation and strengthening exercises.

I just knew for the first time that pilates is a rehabilitation exercise.

The hospital recommended it because it makes the muscles healthy and help to strengthen the core. PT is difficult to regain muscle but by doing pilates, it definitely feels like our muscles are getting healthy. Strength is formed in the whole body. Probably because I have been doing various exercises since I was a child, I think I catch up with subtle changes sooner than others.

We are curious of the exercise that you have tried.

I did ballet, and I also swam for a long time. From admission of elementary school until middle school, I swam almost every evening for two hours. So my shoulder has gotten so wider. (Laugh)

You said your shoulder is wide?

Yes. I thought of it as my complex, but other people like it. Do they like that my shoulder is dripping at the right angle? I have heard that often, so now it seems to be okay.

What kind of body that you want?

I want to have a firm and healthy body made from exercise. In the early 20s, I wanted a skinny body that looked slim on the screen, but I changed my mind as I grew older. I am inspired by Kendall Jenner's body. I eat protein diligently, and I also do squat for 100 times everyday so I can show you a different body line in the near future.

Sometimes there are people who asked me why did I exercise when I am already slim. But I am not exercising for weight loss purposes. I am m exercising to have a mature body line.

[Magazine] Pretty. Nara

We asked Hello Venus Nara about 'pretty'. It was proper word explained by her.

It was something that I thought even before meeting you, but I am sure after seeing you in real life. You do not need other modifier, you are just a pretty woman. How many times have you listened to this word while living?
Well. I am always shy, so I still do not know how to answer it. I know what the reaction will be if I said like this, but I have never thought that I am really pretty. I am trying because I want to be pretty.

It felt refreshing for some reason or other to listen this kind of typical answer after a long time. (laugh) If you try to become pretty, what it is mainly?
I exercise almost everyday. At least five times in a week. I did it as much as I can if I have time no matter if it is 30 minutes or 2 hours. Other than than, I eat green grape candy? When I am tense, my lips dry so I always eat candy before shooting. So my expression or word will come out naturally.

When do you think you are the most prettiest?
When I feel responsibility passionately in my word. Before this, I was not like that. Still it is really good when I appear on screen, I was drunk on that feeling. But the time passes, it has been already 4, 5 years that I debut so I was worry with how to show it. I also become responsible to my works. I think I am pretty during that time. Am I cool?

Were there many changes internally compared to when you made debut?
Yes. Back then maybe I was really young, it was mentally unmanageable. In a way, I fall into thought to be seen pretty so I think I was more stressed. I also didn't talk a lot and limited myself a lot in things that I do. Now I has been freed from those thought.

I think when people start to say you are pretty is from the changing point. At the same time, unexpectedly they discover your easy-going appearance in variety program.
That's right. Before this, I thought a lot for small talking or behaviour so it was unnatural and I cannot talk about what I want to talk so there are a lot of time that I regret. Now I just do it. If it become a mistake, I will accept it and will not do it again. I became comfortable when I start to show my real appearance. But actually I also lose a lot of weight. I lose around 10 kg from when I debuted.

10 kg? You don't look like you need diet when seeing your debut appearance?
It can be because of the difference that only I know but it was to the level that I felt uncomfortable with people's attention. I thought that someone will tell my that I gain weight when they see me. I think I didn't like it by myself. So I diet.

Then how about now? Did you love yourself enough?
My standard for being pretty is know to love yourself. I think I have meet the standard.

Of course physically pretty is not everything, but you know that there is something you can do because you are pretty. What do you think can be possible?
Clothes. Haha. I can felt that the clothes that I wore is a good clothes? And it doesn't matter what clothes that I wear, I can go wear it comfortably.

Let's be a bit more greedy here, do you have other word that you want to listen except 'pretty'?
'That's good'. It was my goal that was set not long ago, but I want to hear the people that I work together to say, 'It's good to work with her because she's good'. There are many times that I work with new people, so I have desire to receive recognition from the. Recently I'm really working hard to listen to that word. I also have desire to try this and that.

What do you want to do? Among the thing that you have not done yet.
I want to be a radio DJ.  Probably you have felt it but I am not a very fun people. One of the thing that I don't have is humour. So I want to find my humour which I hidden somewhere while doing radio. Actually acting also is one of the thing that I want to do, but I have filmed for my first movie not long ago. If I can act, I want to do it with character that I always want to do.

What is your character in your movie.
It is an independent movie and the title is <A Girl's World>. One of the movie that I thought is beautiful is <Blue is the Warmest Colour>. I watch it and I wanted to do homosexual love movie, and this movie is dealing with that subject. I acted as Hanam, and she is a high school senior who loves literature. It's a story about subtle things that happens when three girls, including me, exchange emotions with each other.

As it is a totally unexpected character, we are curious of how it will be revealed.
I heard it will be released this year or next year, but I am also curious because I still cannot watch the complete part. I want to watch it quickly.

Was there any new appearance that was discovered in acting area that you challenge for the first time?
Usually my voice is high, but as I try acting, I know that low tone voice also come out. And the most important thing is I learned the experience to catch attention of public. I've always been interested in how people see me, but when I was shooting, there was a moment when I could only see the person who exchanges the dialogue with me. It was an emotion that I felt t the first time, it was very fun.

Perhaps do you have a new appearance that was discovered today?
I suppose. Today also is a concept that I haven't done so I think I will discover something, but first of all I was really happy. While monitoring, I thought that 'Was I someone that have those ambience' so it was amazing. While shooting, I keep on putting spell, "I was originally like this". Is that alright? Haha

You are literally trendy girl recently. How did you feel?
ㄴ I am spending a very happy and grateful day everyday because lots of people like and search for me. On the other hand, this is my first time to have this many individual activity so I am also bewildered. I have sense of responsibility and always thinking that I have to work hard.

Do you realise your popularity?
ㄴ I still don't know but many people tell me. I receive contacts saying that they watched my ad in cinema. Ah, people that knows me also seems to increase compared to before.

Then now I think you pay attention considerably in your appearance or body management. Do you have your skincare rule? 
ㄴ Firstly, I remove my make up right after shooting ends. Even when exercising, I did it with bare face, and if possible, I try to be in no make up condition. After cleansing, in a condition where I don't wipe off the moisture with towel, I covered cotton pad generously with toner, after that wiped off once more and manage my vein. Next, finish it with applying serum and cream! When I look at the seniors whose famous with good skin, they didn't apply many cosmetics. Since their tips are the truth, I do and follow it.

When you didn't make up usually, what did you put in your pouch before going out?
- I make sure to bring lip balm and coconut oil. Especially coconut oil is my favourite beauty item. Before shooting, I put it on my lips thickly. I wipe it a bit with tissue before make up and when I put on lipstick, even after make up the lips is moist and the gloss will return.

Nevertheless, when there is a day that you want to look pretty?
ㄴ Red tinted lip balm! I like ambiguous make up that filled my lips.

We cannot miss talking about body when it is about 'Nara'. Today shooting staffs also saw and admired your body.
ㄴ I really put on effort. When I first debut, I weigh a lot. I want to diet but I have schedule, above all I was afraid my flaw will be exposed when I exercise with someone. So I started to diet alone. At first, I don't know anything and I searched the internet blindly, there is a diet that doesn't eat white food. Food like flour, rice, sugar and salt. I started it immediately. After that, I ate an apple every morning and I exercised when I went to practice room. I run on treadmill, skipping rope and arm exercise with filling water in plastic bottle. I think I exercise just like physical labor. Recently also, the habit back then remains, so when I cannot do physical training because of schedule, I will make sure to exercise even though I am alone at the dorm and sleep.

Did you also control your diet?
ㄴ I am self-controlling carbohydrate. I eat only half bowl of rice. Especially I try not to eat soup. When I really want to eat ramyun sometimes, I only pour half of the soup and only eat the noodle.

Did your usual life is healthy, we can felt bright and health energy.
ㄴ I try to think a lot of positive thoughts. Originally my personality also is positive type. After living dorm life with the members, I think my personality has brightened more.
