Ministry of Government Affairs and Home Affairs appointed musical actress Park Hae Mi, actor Seo Kang Joon and singer Nara as bicycle safety culture honorary ambassadors before bicycle day.
Park Hae Mi is familiar with 'Jesus Christ Superstar' 'Mamma Mia' and etc as musical star with many success great work and with TV drama 'High Kick'.
Seo Kang Joon is a star who is in his peak of popularity with movie 'Hwajeong', drama 'Chees in the Trap' and etc, and Nara (real name Kwon Nara) is a member of 6-member girl group 'Hello Venus'. (T/N: It seems the article mistake Hwajeong/Splendid Politics as a movie)
For duration of 1 year, they will be active as public honorary ambassador to energize the usage of bicycle, establish bicycle safety culture and participate in promotion, campaign and event.
Park Hae Mi revealed her thought with saying, "As a bicycle honorary ambassador, I am happy to be selected and the citizens ride bicycle a lot in their daily life but I will publicize actively.
Seo Kang Joon revealed his aspiration with saying, "I enjoy riding bicycle usually, but I feel a big sense of duty to be chosen as bicycle honorary ambassador. I will be in-charge to reduce bicycle accident through establishment of bicycle safety culture".
Nara revealed her determination with saying,"Bicycle is an environment-friendly means of transportation, as well as it is a very helpful for health and exercise. I will keep riding bicycle frequently and I will lead the way in establishing the correct bicycle usage culture".
Minister of Government Administration and Home Affairs Hong Yoon Sik said, "While number of bicycle owned exceeded 10 million units, bicycle accident also is increasing over 10 % every year, but majority is happening from the carelessness of bicyclists". He request for them to perform a role as honorary ambassadors for safe bicycle usage culture establishment.
Meanwhile Ministry of Public Administration and Security is supposed to hold bicycle day ceremony with attendance of vice-minister of Public Administration and Security Kim Seong Ryeol together with bicycle safety culture honorary ambassadors, bicycle group belongs to Korea Bike Council, people of same interest, 300 people and etc at Yeouido Park on 21st April.
