Hello Venus Nara, someone that has a prejudice she might be a celebrity who is hard to approach because of her 172cm of slender figure and Western mask. She's more spectacular than anyone else but she left a pleasant first impression for all of the staff with her outgoing and spirited figure. Late interest and attention after 6 years debut, she is afraid of losing her beginnings, but she feels like she is a rookie and enjoy every moment and appreciate more than her appearance. The girl that makes you curious of the next member that will receive attention. So we became more curious of Hello Venus. Interview with humble and warm Nara.

Q How was the rash guard shooting with EIDER?
▲ I was actually nervous. Haha. When I heard that I got pictorial shooting, I asked for a week. I want to exercise and make my body. But I had a drama party last week, so I did not prepare well as planned because I was drinking. Fortunately, I appreciate you taking pictures that are more beautiful. (Laugh)

Q We were surprised that you are able to pose and look like a professional model.

▲ I usually enjoy magazines. When I spend time in the cafe, I often look at magazine books. If I see a beautiful pose or expression, I practice it by myself and try it next shooting. If I did try it and felt this is not it, I would give up quickly.

Q You have professional look. Let's talk about acting this time. You will join the acting idol through SBS new Wed - Thurs drama 'Suspicious Partner'
▲ I did not get into official shooting. I am still reading the script and shooting my scene, but I'm still shaking and excited. I'm still a newborn baby for acting. I'm trying to learn a lot from the staff and senior actors on the shooting set. I have to do well, but I am worried about it.

Q Is there any difficulty in shooting?
▲ There are a lot of shortcomings because it's my first aCting after the short film. My role is a prosecutor so I need a lot of experiences and went to court. I will attend the real trial and watch how the prosecutors talk and act. It's a job learned from script only until now so I'm unfamiliar with the immersion and  I think it will help a lot when I actually watch and observe.

Q What do you feel to work together with Ji Chang Wook, Nam Ji Hyun, Choi Tae Joon and etc who have solid acting skill?
▲ All of them are young bit they are my big seniors. Especially, (Nam) Ji Hyun, who has a strong acting career starting from child, is most helpful to me. I am really thankful to her. I was very nervous when I was in a place with the great seniors at the time of script reading. Ji Hyun grabbed my hand from the side. That alone has been a tremendous strength. I am really grateful that even senior Ji Chang Wook and (Choi) Tae Joon who is the same age with me, have good personality and take care of me.

Q We are curious of how you do acting practice.
▲ I do not get a professional education. The director and writer watch over me. Both of them wanted to see my own unique and fresh acting rather than formal acting. They said they would like for me to come to the shooting set and act with enjoyable feeling. I listen to the word and keep practicing acting.

Q We cannot left out Nara's body story.

▲ I have something I'd like to say by all means (laugh). My height is exactly 172cm. But there are even saying that I am 176 cm, some even ask aren't my height 186 cm. It's half joke and half serious but I am not that tall. Haha. I think my posture is bent and it is getting smaller. I have been correcting my posture recently but I want to say that I am 172 cm, not more than that.

Q Is there a time when being tall are inconvenient?
▲ If I wear heels, there are times when I reach the ceiling of the bus. It's only when I wear heels. You must write this. When I wear heels! At time like that, sometime I was like 'Ah~ Am I too tall?'

Q Diet is also likely to be repeated all the time. How do you manage when you are busy like these days?

▲ I'm managing it with home training. I put mat on my house, stretching, squat and I manage my flab and poster correction with yoga posture.

Q You are decorated for a lot of mobile phones' lock screen as 'diet stimulant'. What is your diet stimulant?
▲ Really? It feels good to listen. My early debut picture is my diet stimulant. When I look at the pictures, I have a desire for diet. I went up to 68kg, but now I think I subtracted 10kg or more. I have a big skeleton but I got really big on the screen because I got fat. Sometimes when I look at the pictures, I realize why I have to diet hard.

Q Your body is attracting attention
▲ Not at all. It is something that I should be thankful. Because of that interest, I can not be lazy and I can devote myself to self-management.

Q When can we meet the complete Hello Venus?

▲ Hello Venus has already become a six-year singer. It's a time of greed for good music and good stage. I think you can see complete Hello Venus before this year ends but it is not determined yet what appearance it will be. I just want you to know that we are working hard to meet you with better music and performance, and that we are preparing to develop our individual skills.

Q You receive spotlight alone. Do the members become jealous?
▲ We have not actually got our first win yet. To be honest, we are a group that had no time to receive interest or attention like now. So the members congratulate and support me when my activities increase and when I challenge in variety show or acting. When I am working hard and over time, the other members will get more attention than me. They are friends with enough charm to be loved. I am grateful to the members who always have a good energy.

Q As for the next member to be noticed.
▲ I want to talk about all the members. It is my greed, isn't it? As for acting, it is Yooyoung, and as for variety show, the youngest Yeoreum seems to do well. Please keep an eye on them.

[Interview] Hello Venus Nara “First acting challenge, I hope I'll hear ‘She is quite good’”

Nara who takes on first acting challenge with 'Suspicious Partner', shows off perfect synchronisation with her character and the birth of next generation acting idol is foreseeable. She will show the devilish charm of the prosecutor 'Cha Yoo Jung' who is the ex-girlfriend of 'unapproachable smart prosecutor' Noh Ji Wook and has shameless but confident and sexy charm.

SBS new Wed - Thurs drama 'Suspicious Partner' that is set to air on upcoming May 10 releases interview of Nara who takes on her first acting challenge, for the viewers who are expecting the drama and attracting attention.

On April 11, poster shooting for 'Suspicious Partner' is held at a studio in Nonhyun-dong. Nara looked a little nervous, but she showed a bright smile and focused on shooting with Ji Chang Wook - Nam Ji Hyun - Choi Tae Joon.

In an interview during the poster shooting, Nara was asked if she has prepared specially for her first acting challenge, she shyly laughed and showed her gratitude, "It's a prosecutor role, so I go to court to observe and have a lot of help from them because I'm with good seniors. I received the biggest help from the writers and director because they're guiding me well. I am always thankful."

She chose the charm of character Cha Yoo Jung, "She has cold and urban image but in front of love, she has cute and lovely aspects in the way of expressing her love confidently and honestly. In love, she has a charm that is totally different from her external appearance..I think that is the charming point of Cha Yoo Jung."

Then she was asked about the reaction from Hello Venus members and acquaintances, she said, "They congratulated me a lot and among our members, Yooyoung also is shooting for a drama now so we share a lot of things while sharing our troubles together. I'm really happy because they're supporting me."

From debuting in 6-year girl group, Nara has her first step in life as an actress through 'Suspicious Partner'. In an audition of several hours, she undoubtedly receives a unanimous passing score. She has a perfect synchronisation rate with her character, 'Cha Yoo Jung' and attracted more attention. The birth of next generation 'goddess acting idol' is foreseeable and her transformation with her charm that can not be rejected by her other passion and presence in acting of Nara which takes her first step in acting as an actress is expected.

Q. At the time of casting, you get the role 'Cha Yoo Jung' unanimously from the production crew and became a hot topic. As it is your first acting challenge, do you have any special preparation?

It was prosecutor role, so I went to court to observe it. And because I am with my seniors who are so good, I was helped a lot. Especially I received the biggest help from the writers and director because they're guiding me well. I am always thankful."

Q. 'Cha Yoo Jung' has sexy and urban charm. There is a lot of reaction that you have a very high synchronisation rate with the character. What do you think is the charming point of Cha Yoo Jung?

Q. How is the reaction from Hello Venus members and your acquaintances about your acting challenge?
First of all, the members loved it. They asked, "Don't we have to throw a party?" (laugh)..They congratulated me a lot and among our members, Yooyoung also is shooting for a drama now so we share a lot of things while sharing our troubles together. They asked, "Aren't the members have to watch drama throughout the week?" and I'm really happy because they're supporting me.

Q. Finally, the impression and attitude of working on the drama.
As it's my first acting challenge, there are a lot of people who worry about me a lot, but there are a lot of people who cheer on the other hand. I'll work really hard and do my best so I'll get to hear they say, "Oh! Nevertheless, she's quite good" while they watch the drama. Please look forward and support me a lot.

-Unintentionally you were tied up with Suzy and Seolhyun. "I think it's because of the mobile communication advertisement. After seen for the first time alone in the mobile communication advertisement, I improved into individual advertisement. Since then I have been mentioned with Suzy and Seolhyun."

-Do you feel that they are your rival?
"No, not at all. It will take a long time for.me to follow them. It's a pointless big burden for me. I am so thankful and sorry at the same time that I was placed side by side with them. However, I want to interpret it as meaning that people has become more interested in me. I got a lot of bad reactions. In the past, there was no comment at all but now as much as they are interested in me, there are also lots of bad comments. I can not satisfy everybody by looking at those comments but I think that I have to show a good appearance."

-What negative reactions are there?
"Most of the articles have comments that wrote 'Why are you compared with Suzy and Seolhyun?'. I understand enough.(laugh)"

-What did the members say?
"We pointed out each other. We are the style that said 'you gain weight', when someone gain weight."

-Usually if you have a member who is famous, you'll survive when you release new album, but it's not like that."
"I'm not the main vocal and I can't even dance well. I have to match my role in Hello Venus. I gave my opinion. That's well reflected."

-You must often hear about looking old.
"I think that I'm looking old myself but can't you just say that I'm mature? This time Alice cut her bangs and she looks younger. I'm worried. I will fix the looking old with bright personality."

-Your nickname is 'Bundang Lee Na Young '.
"I'm still blamed until now because of that. It is a nickname given by the company but I really hate it."

-The waiting room hierarchy is ambiguous.
"That's right. I already debut for 6 years but our hiatus is long so it's awkward looking at each other. When we exchange greetings, we get a little bit awkward."

-You started acting too. Are you not greedy?
"If I get a good role at the right time, I have to absolutely do it. I often heard that I look cold for my first impression so I want to act as a bad woman to save my image."

-You're really thin. Do you also have a separate weight management?
"Those who did not know when I debuted, they thought I don't have tendency to gain weight. I was not fat when I debut, but it was a shame compared to other girl group members. It's up and down 60 kg. - You had spent empty holiday twice.
"It's a bit hard for us to watch awards ceremony. We went to a national network awards ceremony at the beginning of our debut but it was difficult to watch it. I wish we could go to at least one place this year. (laugh)"

-Have you ever thought this was the last time?
"When 'I'm Ill'. That time I always thought 'Ah we do not success this time, is it the end' but when I look back, I thought 'There is no such thing as last'."

-Do you still live in hostel?
"We have been living in hostel for six years since we were trainee. We used to stay in hostel only but now we're free to go home too."

- Isn't it inconvenient for living in hostel for a long time?
"It was hard to adapt at first. Unintentionally I'm worried about it. I was stressed that I did not have space for myself but now I can depend on someone. Living in the hostel is rather comfortable."

-When you have a lot of individual activities, you do not see the members often.
"In that regard, I am sorry that I am living in hostel. When I go out at dawn, I feel sorry for the sound when I use water and hair dryer. At that time, I thought that it is right to live alone, but I cannot do that because I'll miss the members."

-Is there no jealousy of members for individual activities?
"I did not ask them but I feel like there is no such thing. Hello Venus is not a team that did well from beginning and there is also a member exchange in the middle so rather, the members thank me while watching my individual activities. -This is the first album after your individual awareness rise so your shoulders must be heavy.
"It's a lie if I say no. As I said before, even though I think about it, I decided with "Ey let's just enjoy it'.."

-How was it after going to jungle? Do you want to go again?
"Absolutely I want to go. I'll be ready to go anytime they call me. Once I go to the jungle, I can not use my cell phone. There are many places where radio waves are not heard. I don't even have to apply make-up. I really like those kind of 'real'. Even the beautiful scenery. When can I see such beautiful nature?"

-It's hard on your mind and stamina.
"It's okay except that I got terrible sun burn because I cannot block the sun. It was fun and exciting for the first time experience. The staffs also said this is the first for someone to really like it. I do not have any problem with my bed, I work a lot during the day and when I put my head at night, I fall asleep right away. I could not swim and I learned for three days before going to the jungle. They helped a lot because I was the only woman."

Pouring girl group every other day. When it's not even enough to let their face known with an album every quarter, Hello Venus made a comeback after 1 year and 6 months. It has been 6 years since their debut. The popularity that shined at the beginning of the debut become little with long hiatus. While there was no album activity, Nara (26 · Kwon Nara) tried not to be forgotten.

"At first I was impatient. I did not think we'd have such a long hiatus. I had a hard time blaming someone, but I thought about it differently. I thought it was a chance to devote myself and it was time to sharpen my skills."

The 6th mini album that was released on January 11, is released 1 year and 6 months after July 2015. They debuted with cute and bubbly concept but they transfer to sexy route together with member replacement. They attempted image transformation with 'Sticky Sticky' 'Wiggle Wiggle' 'I'm Ill' and etc. The results were not satisfactory. And the new album released this time is lighter again.

"We put our heads together and worried a lot. What is the best concept for us? While looking for the process, we came here and all the members cheered because the album this time is good. There was no direct involvement but we prepared for a long time and became familiar with the music of Hello Venus."

Nara attracted attention as a next-generation girl group center following Suzy and Seolhyun with one of the mobile telecommunications advertisement in the early part of last year. She did not want it but she was exposed side by side with Suzy and Seolhyun in media. "I feel sorry to them (Suzy and Seolhyun). I'm not even at the level to be mentioned together, but we're tied unintentionally. Previously, there were no comments in my article but now 9 of 10 are swear words. I don't think I should just be happy because I got attention and it's ambiguous."

Her performance in variety show is also outstanding as she has also gone to 'Law of the Jungle' and has also been active as a panelist for 'King of Masked Singer'. There may be jealousy of the members, but it is not possible because everyone has gone through all sort of hardships. A new album that is planted on the base of slightly elevated awareness of herself. "It's a lie to say that my shoulders are not heavy but I'm glad if this helps the team."

She's also advertising beer and she's an optimized interviewee in DrinkingDol. She is not able to talk for a long time because of practice after the drinking talk but we've heard about her last six years of activities and enthusiasm. "Ah and I don't look old. Please say that I look mature. Hahaha."

- This is drinking talk official question. What is your drinking capacity?
"I do not drink well so around half bottle of soju. But I like the atmosphere of drinking. If I drink a little longer, I'm going to the end of the drink.

-Do you have a special drinking habit?
"I'll make sure to go home and sleep. I'm very sleepy when I drink. Drinking is more tiring than other exhaustion of physical strength."

-You cannot drink often.
"It's the fate of the girl group. We do not drink often because of body management and we just have a cup when we feel good. Now it's a period of activity so we are more further from drinking.

-New song 'Mysterious' is a bright feeling.
"That's right. It's bright and light. The earlier songs were feeling down as a whole but we can see a lot of bright images this time."

-In January, there were a lot of female singers starting with AOA. Are you not worry?
"I used to worry about it before the album release but now I think we should enjoy with each other. 'What if we get buried' I'm worried about it only then. The purpose is to show you how to enjoy and play, and we don't dwell on the chart."

-Is the concept right?
All of the members are bright, mischievous and playful. So this time, we fits well with the concept."

-Did you abandon sexy concept?
"Our debut was fresh but we wanted to make a difference. We wanted to try sexy concept once with 'Sticky Sticky' 'Wiggle Wiggle' and etc and it was a golden chance. I have a lot of desire to talk with the members and show a new concept when we take a break."

-If the hiatus is long, do you not think a lot?
"Everyone was not positive, but when we were together, our personality changed. We can be depressed in vague times when we do not know when is our comeback but we overcame it together. We comfort each other."

-You had an unexpectedly long rest.
"Nowadays, they often make albums and show them to the public to search for their colors. They have three or four albums in a year. We are very anxious and impatient because we are not like that, but now it is different. I had time for self-development during the break. If you do not have activity, we practice singing and choreography. We think 'If not now, we will not have self-development time'. Then the anxiety disappeared."

-Why do you think your hiatus is long?
"We can not find the original color of Hello Venus, so I guess the album was delayed."

-You still can not find the color in your 6th year debut.
"Of course I know. There was an unexpected change in the members and it took time for new friends to come in. We needed time to find our own colors. We'll show you from now on. I'm close with Girl's Day Sojin and she advised 'In the end, long runs are important.'

Hello Venus Nara (26) started her acting career in through short film 'Fantasy of the Girls' last year. Nara said she wanted to challenge the villain considering her own image. She is also interested in sitcom. Nara's story about sitcom went over to Nara's sitcom-like daily life.

-Last year, you made appearance in movie 'Fantasy of the Girls'. Do you want to challenge for acting again this year?

▶ I want to try if I get chance and if I get a good and suitable role.

-What role do you want to play?

▶I heard that I look cold when I didn't speak. If it matches my image, I want to challenge as a villain. Personally I want to try acting in sitcom. I think it will be fun.

-Is there any sitcom that you enjoyed watching?

▶It was really old but I watched 'Guys n Girls' when I was really young and since then I've been watching 'Nonstop' season by season.

-I think you must have fantasy about university life after watching 'Nonstop'. You attended Dongduk Women 's University. How was your university life?

▶I went to co-ed elementary, middle and high school. When I went to women's university, it was actually comfortable because everyone is woman. When I was in high school, I have to wash my hair because there are boys students and I need to make sure to wash my hair but I can comfortable not washing my hair in women's university and just covered the oily part with powder. Haha. When I was in 1st year of university, we cannot even wear casual clothes. We just wear sweat suit with just department padding wear so I think it's weird if I'm the only one who wear make up at that time. I was in broadcasting department so I tied my hair altogether, practice and I'm comfortable like that.

-We think you're popular during your school days.

▶When I was in middle school, I got many pepero from the seniors or friends from other class during day like Pepero Day. I think when I was in high school, I got a lot of confession from female juniors more than males. It was a new experience for me.

-How about your fans gender ratio now?

▶When I first debuted, I have female fans. Now I think the uncle fans are getting a bit more increasing. In Hello Venus, there were a lot more female fans in the past. There was a lot of male fans too but as we slightly try different things, the male fans keep it to a certain extent.

-What will be the fan ratio in this activity?

▶I hope it'll be equal like our debut. Haha. Lime is very charismatic. She did short cut. She's really cool.

-Do you have any modifiers you would like to have this year?

▶When we go to music promotion, we belongs to high order at one point. It doesn't feel real because we're promoting after a long time. It feels like we're a rookie. There are rookies that we meet for the first time and there are a lot of teams that just debuted but they're fresh and rich with fresh juice. We're fruit syrup. Haha

Fruit syrup is maturing so I want to appeal with those effort and maturity. Now goddess modifier also is good but I think it'll be fun if we're called 'fruit syrup Venus'.

-Did you talk about it to the members?

▶I have to go talk to them today. Fruit syrup. Haha

-Is there any group that you want to meet on music show?

▶I really like senior Shinhwa and they're my role model. We have comeback at the same time. It was really an honor and I want to give them our autographed album and handwritten letter.

-What is your goal this year?

▶In fact, the most immediate goal now is stand on stage after a long time with new appearance. I hope it will be well but even if it isn't well, I feel so good that I can show my fans good appearance. I'm looking for more ways to communicate with fans. I will try to meet them often and there are a lot of fields that we are good at in the team, so we want to light up in those fields and this year we want to show appearance where people will say 'Group Hello Venus do well. They're alright'. We will try and challenge various genres of songs in the future and I hope this year will be a year where we can show our charms.

The program that made Hello Venus Nara (26) the mainstream was SBS variety program 'Law of the Jungle in East Timor'. Nara showed a remarkable survival ability as the only female member. In the tough jungle life, the beauty of Nara without humiliation also became a hot topic.

This is reflected in the rankings of real-time keywords on various portal sites. Nara ranked first in the ranking of real-time keywords from Friday, the day 'Law of the Jungle' airs until Saturday, the next day.

-You went to 'Law of the Jungle' last year right? We heard that you watched 'Man and Wild' that your fans recommended before going.

▶When my fans knew I'll be going to jungle, they commented on my SNS "I'm worried for Nara', 'I'm worried, can she survive', 'Nara-ya, make sure to watch Man and Wild before you go.' Actually I got help a lot from Seo Kang Joon and Cha Eun Woo. It's because they already went before me.  I also borrowed lantern. Haha. I need it though. I need it when night hunting. They told me few tips. 'Man and Wild' was definitely more helpful than Eunwoo's advice. Haha.

There is a beach episode when I watched 'Man and Wild', a part about making house came out. It is useful to come up with a way to make a roof with leaves. It was useful for building a house alone. I went to build the house but somehow I made a deal because of pomegranate. I got to live in a more cool house made by Kim Byung Man.

- You made appearance in various variety program other than 'Law of the Jungle'. Aren't you afraid to make appearance in variety show?

▶I was scared the most. Even enough to have fear of variety show. When I go out as a panel, I watched the show diligently like an audience but suddenly when story comes, it's getting harder and harder to think about it. Later when I go home, I become embarrassed. I was like 'I should talk about that'. There are situations like that, but I think it was 'Law of the Jungle' that gave it a bit of a break.

Reality program like 'Law of the Jungle' and 'Flower Crew' are different with variety program held inside a studio. My image as it is, I express good when I like it, I express hate when I dislike it and I express not delicious when it is not, it was reality that picked out interesting elements in it and I seemed to be able to start comfortably. Thanks to it, I feel like I can express what I want to say and express as much as I can, no matter where I go. I think it was 'Law of the Jungle' that made it possible to overcome it.

-After 'Law of the Jungle' first broadcast, you came to the top of real-time search term on portal site.

▶During first broadcast, I didn't know about it because we have oversea schedule. It's hard to watch videos from abroad. I have captured Naver real-time search term and uploaded them on Kakao Talk chat room. I've been 1st place in real-time search term, but I haven't been on real-time for a long time. I was also on real-time search term the next day. I was so glad that I send message to 'Law of the Jungle' PD, writer, Byungman oppa and the others that day. I'm so happy and thankful. This is the first time I've been in the first place for a long time.

I was really lucky that they really took care of me. Especially Chiyeul oppa. Now I call him oppa. Haha. At first I call him teacher but he said 'don't call me teacher'. (Hwang Chi Yeul was Hello Venus past vocal teacher.) I think I can adapt well because Chiyeul oppa took care of me.

- Besides first broadcast, you were on top of real-time search term on portal site for every 'Law of the Jungle' broadcast.

▶Yes. That's right. Haha. I'm really happy. When other singers and entertainers were in the first place, I envied them and said, "When will we in the first place. When will I". was full of envy. I thought that I have to work hard. I'm happy and thankful that I got it once and it became a driving force to work harder in the future.

-You were on top of real-time search term every time so we think you must become ambitious.

▶I hope I'll get it every time. This time, I would like to stay in the 1st place for a long time due to music activities. I'm confident. I hope I can give a lot of energy through this album.

-Do you want to go to jungle again?

▶I want to go again. Actually, I cannot even use my mobile phone, I cannot make up, I do not wash well, and it's inconvenient about this. It's really a healing when I go there. That's what we have to do in a natural environment, so I don't have to put on make up and I'm free to do what I want to do. I was healed there because it is a program that contains such part.

At that time, I just started individual activity and suddenly when I got it, I was thankful but I thought that 'am I doing well?'. Then I went to the jungle and talked to the others and it was really a healing. I think it was time I could rearrange and look around.

- Do you have other entertainment program that you want to appear?

▶Personally I want to make appearance on 'Infinite Challenge' together with the members. I met senior Park Myung Soo once during smartphone advertorial promotion. He adores me at that time that he mentioned me as someone who will do well on his radio. It got out on a lot of articles. I'm so thankful and I work hard because I still have the idea that I should do well to make sure that the words are not in vain. We will really work hard on our performance and grab good base. We will work hard to show the senior our good appearance that they will say 'I know that they will do well'. It's my greed to make appearance on 'Infinite Challenge'.

-How about a virtual marriage?

▶There is something I want to try. But I used to think that I wanted to get married earlier, now that I'm working hard, I'm happy so I think that 'marriage can be done later.' Regarding virtual marriage, instead of become satisfied of the romance with TV or drama, I want to experience it once like Gong Myung. (Currently Gong Myung is making appearance on MBC 'We Got Married'.)

- You're the most active in Hello Venus but do the members envy you?

▶I get those questions. I didn't think so and I think the members also. We have not been a good team from the beginning, and there have been a lot of things that have happened since then. Two people left the team and the hiatus was long. I was not the member that got attention from beginning. Come to think of it, the members thanked me and supported me because I should have done better when I was doing personal activities and I'm doing my job very well. I also get strength from there.

We all know each other so well. We know that when a member is known, it's not only that member but other members in the team also will have their time to be recognised. In that part, I also worked hard to prepare for the team before, and other friends are still working hard. We know that when we get the chance and when we prepare hard, someday it will be our time.

Hello Venus Nara (26), who was recently interviewed at the cafe on the day, caught sight of the recent discovery of cereal. Eating cereal every morning is one of Nara's secrets of managing her body. She looks like she doesn't have tendency to gain weight but she has to exercise as much as she eats. Nara chose cereal topped with banana after much consideration.

-Do you come often to this cafe?

▶This is the first time I come to eat here. The vanilla latte here is so delicious that I only took takeaway, but the taste is good, the price is good and the amount also is good. I've come to drink a vanilla latte after a long time, but there are so many things like cereal. I eat cereal every morning. 'Here is good. Unusual'. I think it's alright because it's my first time for cereal in cafe recently.

-Is cereal the secret of your body shape?

▶It seems like that. If I have really empty stomach in the morning, I eat a lot later for lunch. I should not eat a lot of cereal and after eating a handful, I fill up my hunger and eat a little bit during my schedule.

-Do you manage body shape ahead of comeback?

▶I have to exercise as much as I eat. I work out every day but I cannot do it 365 days so I exercise at least 4~5 times in a week. However, a little bit different, I used to not exercise when I was on diet. Now I make sure to exercise and I exercise more than I eat.

-It is unexpected because you look like you don't have tendency to gain weight.

▶ Those who don't know me when I debut said like that. Actually I'm not chubby even when I debut, but I have a shameful body to stand in front of TV. I gained weight so I was around 60kg at that time. Actually I can just live like that but at that time, the former member Yoonjo was really thin and she was beside me.

There is a picture when I wear short pants, my thighs came out bigger than her because I stand next to her. Haha. At first, I was not stressed. I didn't know that I was chubby, but the company keep on pushing me.

When I am next to her, so when I wear my short thighs I get a picture that is double my friend. I did not know he was fat, but the company kept pushing. At one point I saw that I looked chubby. So I thought I have to lose weight.

-What made you gain weight after debut?

▶I want to eat more because I have to diet before debut. I like to eat but when I have important days now, I didn't even eat snack and I have self-control but at that time, I want to eat even just after practicing. I gained more weight and just when I debuted, the resting time after rehearsing is long when we go to broadcast stations. At time like that, I gained weight faster because I eat and sleep.

-Now you're getting the biggest love after your debut. The start was the telecommunication company CF right?

▶Actually I didn't believe it. I wanted to do so, but I did not even realize it, and at one point I realized it when I saw my picture attached on a bus that passed by while I was walking. Actually I thought, "Are they giving attention? It seems like that". In fact, I do not know anything other than the Internet. I often go to fan cafes, but I do not really do internet well. I go to practice room and my picture was there so I was amazed and realized it at that time.

-Did you use public transportation? We think a lot of people will know you.

▶I enjoy riding subway more than bus. Recently there are some people who know me but for me public transport is more comfortable and good. I don't have car now, I like to walk and like these things. It can also be an exercise in life.

-When was the last time you used public transportation?

▶Most recently I rode subway when I went home about a week ago. I think I was not recognize because I didn't put on make up. When I went to Bundang Line, one person took a quick look at me. I don't know if that person know me.

- You were compared a lot with AOA Seolhyun after shooting for the same telecommunication CF.

▶In fact, I am grateful that she is loved by the advertising side and I think she's charming. Personally I like her. On the other hand, I thought that I should show my charm, new and various charms which is different from her. When I went to shoot for my first (telecommunication) CF, I was a bit burdened because of Seolhyun's board. I remembered that I open the door and have a shooting while promising myself to show charming appearance as good as Seolhyun.

-You have a lot of beer CF. Currently, you're active as CF model. Did you drink alcohol well?

▶I can't drink a lot but I like the drinking ambiance. I mainly drink beer. I like alcohol variously but the together ambiance is good. So I liked it when I got beer CF. This time my partner model was Yoo Byung Jae. It was really fun because I am really his fan. But I'm still awkward with him. I even went to 'Flower Crew' but we are awkward.

Hello Venus Nara (26) laughed brightly as she drank ice vanilla latte.

Nara was at the center of the topic last year through a telecommunication company CF. For a short time, Nara, who showed urban charm, unrealistic body and cheerful charm, quickly took the hearts of the public. Nara's group, Hello Venus came up with expectations for the first half of the year.

▶I only drink coffee mainly. Before this I drank americano to lose weight but now I need sugar. Haha. The eldest sister Alice and I only drink vanilla latte.

-Your face is really small.

▶I think it's because I have a similar face size to other friends than I am tall. All our members have small face.

-So who has the smallest face among member of Hello Venus?

▶The member with the smallest face? I think Seoyoung and Yooyoung are similar. Seoyoung is more shorter than Yooyoung so I think Yooyung has the smallest face. Yooyoung lose her baby fat so I think her face is more smaller. I was in charge of a height among the members. Yooyoung is younger than me but I think she's slowly growing. It seems that she takes my role.

-What are you in-charge of now?

▶Me? Nowadays I'm in charge of reaction haha.

-I think there will be burden ahead of Hello Venus comeback

▶I was always burdened every performance but the different with preparing for other performance is we enjoy while practising and we practice while focusing the most with 'how can we enjoy the performance. How can we show our charm'. So it's much more fun and you can actually look forward to it. This time, we are challenging with a new genre, and I am personally excited and trembling, but I am looking forward to it.

-Hello Venus is trying various concepts.

▶ You can say that our image has changed but I think we tried to challenge for new concept and genre. We were young when we debuted so while we were refreshing and cute, we did a bit ladies concept from little girl? Then we expressed a little bit more luxurious ladies and now we wanted to express more of a stylish and beautiful woman from a luxurious lady. We wanted to try a lot of new things and we seem to have a lot of greed there. 

-What is the concept that you like the most?

▶Mysterious. Our members like it, and it's 'Mysterious', so it's a mysterious secret agent concept. The outfits vary too because we were thinking of how to express mysterious. First of all, the outfits are really pretty. Haha.

I liked it so much, I enjoyed singing and listening, and I was excited while practising. Actually it was my first time after 'VENUS' (Hello Venus debut album). Actually, I think I was worried before 'Mysterious'. We gained age, the members change and at one point I become the second older and the eldest sister Alice became the leader and during member changing and hiatus time, I think a lot and the burden was on the shoulder at some point.

We just enjoyed it during 'Venus' and after that, we think of how to do well because we were burdened so we cannot enjoy on stage. This time, we think 'How can we express it charmingly? How can we enjoy the performance? How can we make the fans like it?' just like when we did 'Venus'.

-The teaser picture with average face of Hello Venus was a hot topic.

▶I liked it because the comment mainly said that Yooyoung's face and mine can be seen. We were like 'It is a relief that they can see our face'. People around me contacted me. They asked who is she and introduce her to them. It's not only me, but other members also were asked about who is she.

[Interview] Hello Venus Nara “Describe comeback with one word? ‘Mystery’”

Recently, the most 'hot' face of commercial is the girl group Hello Venus Nara. She makes both fans and commercial industry excite with her western figure and cute mask like a doll.

Especially her group will make a comeback with 6th mini album 'Mystery of VENUS' on January 11, so the interest for her is growing. So Nara released her very trivial stories to MBN Star.

Q. What does your name means?
A. In the sense of being a big person, my father gave me the name 'Nara'.

Q. Please introduce your strengths. A. I like being positive and learning.

Q. What do you look like 10 years from now? A. I think I'm going to be challenging and active in more diverse fields than I am now.

Q. Other than singing, Nara is really good at this! A. I'm good at diving. It can be more than 1 minute and 30 seconds.

Q. What is your hobby? A. Watch movies, listen to music, exercise every hour

Q. If you represent yourself as an animal, which animal would you like to point out? A. Diligent chicken. I get up earlier than usual now, organize things to do and start the day with exercise.

Q. What do you think when you look at mirror? A. I wish my skin is more whiter and cleaner.

Q. When is the happiest moment of the day? A. The moment of sleep and the moment of eating are the happiest.

[Interview] "Challenging not as an idol but 'Actress Song Joo Hee'"…musical 'All Shook Up' Song Joo Hee

The reason that makes you challenge in musical.
ㄴ I think of it as a chance. I've trained for acting since I was a trainee, but since my full-time job is a singer, it's uncomfortable to act wholeheartedly. Among that, I got to worry about a musical that I can do both singing and acting, and I got to stand on musical stage for the first time through audition. I only thought 'I have to work hard' instead of 'I should make sure to get it'.

You're reported only as your real name 'Song Joo Hee' at the casting board without modifier 'Hello Venus' or 'Alice'. Is it the part that lay the foundation and determination of as actress Song Joo Hee? From now on when you do activity as musical actress, are you going to delete your group name or stage name and do activity with your real name like now?
ㄴ At first I want to use 'Hello Venus' and 'Alice'. Because it's my position as Hello Venus leader. However, for musical audiences that see a person like me on stage for the first time, just in case I'm worry I'll implant prejudice. I use my real name Song Joo Hee with mind that want to prevent that prejudice. Moreover, I want it to mean as a beginning point in the same place with other actors because I went to audition equally and got the role  without any privilege just like other actors. From now on, I'm planning to be active in musical industry as Song Joo Hee.

There were not lots of chances to confirm your singing ability in singer days. There is challenge as musical actress, isn't there any pressure towards your singing ability? What sort of merit do you think you have as a musical actress?
ㄴ It's a lie to say that there's no pressure. It's because it's not the same genre. Musical song is quite different with song. In singing, throwing away the last sound is a technique but if you do that in musical, it's a big problem. Because of that, it's considerably difficult and it's a learning process for things that I don't know throughout performance practice. Fortunately, there are many pop-style musical song in 'All Shook Up', despite it's my first musical, I think I didn't wander a lot.

The part that I worry the most is the part to connect dialogue to singing. I act as Sandra when I say my line, when I pass to a song, I became Hello Venus Alice or Song Joo Hee, so it's my biggest concern. Now also I didn't think that I'm familiar and did well, but the more I repeat the episode, I learn little by little and at the same time I'm improving.

You're appearing with idol senior and musical actor senior Infinite Kim Sung Kyu. Did you listened to many advises? Or advice by other seniors?
ㄴ All seniors gave me many advises. Actually I'm really fear as it's my first challenge. As I'm an idol, don't the actor seniors hate me. And it's my first activity besides group, it might be difficult to adapt. However fortunately all the seniors liked me. Usually I did broadcast acting mainly when practice acting, I'm familiar with detail acting but I'm lacking with part that has to be revealed on stage. I'm lacking with the one that I have to maximise. Senior Jung Chan Woo told me kindly the method to use body on the stage, for example about arm motion and etc.

After that from performance starting and appearing, I have many concerns. After seeing audiences' reaction, I was confused. When I have many thoughts, senior Ryu Soo Hwa gave advice 'Don't forget the part going back as you and act'. Sunggyu oppa also encouraged me with 'I'm also like that when I debuted', 'Don't be too tense and work hard' and etc. Senior Choi Woo Hyuk and senior Wheesung also cheer me a lot. When practising, I received many help from Gahee unnie (Actress Jung Ga Hee). I'm more clumsier than you thought, so when practising I tend to act silly but she arranged, took care and helped me a lot. When practising, she took care of part that can be missed, so I acquired it more faster.

Musical that you first watched is?
ㄴ It was 'Laundry'. It was a musical that I watched 5 years before I debut. Actually every time I watch it I had been watching in audiences' view therefore instead of helping in musical acting directly, theatre going experience  had an indirect effect. Originally to have interest in musical leads to chance for challenging in musical audition, and now it's because it become a motive for me to stand on stage like this. Now I'l really enjoy doing musical , but I think that also is because originated from influence that I like musical usually.

I heard that Hello Venus members came and support your performance not long ago. It seems that your relationship with the members is close.
ㄴ Controlling condition is really important when I do musical performance. I was a bit sensitive in that part. From the first performance, I had symptoms of cold. I should sleep enough, but I have to go to other schedule on the day that I don't have performance. Come to think of it, it's physically really difficult. Usually the members tend to sleep at dawn, but I have to sleep no later that 12 o' clock at midnight so that I can complete the next day schedule. Thankfully even though it's not sleeping time for the members, they switch off the light when they enter the room and create an atmosphere that I can sleep as comfortable as I can. They even consider in dealing with schedule other than performance. The day after performance is the say for Hello Venus recording, they do delicate considerations such as changing recording order. I'm always grateful towards members.

Do you have the most favourite musical song or scene in this work?
ㄴ I like all the musical song so it's hard to choose only one. For scene, around second half of the play, the conversation scene of Jim and Natalie. The town people hurts about love and in the confused situation, Natalie and Jim appear just the of them on the stage. As a father, Jim consoles Natalie, but he didn't directly console about the situation, he said things like, 'I also had a motorcycle, but I quit because of your mother'. It's a very good scene that tell about basic love. It's the most touching scene.

Sandra is a charming character that makes main character Elvis falls in love at the first sight. Not as Sandra but as Song Joo Hee, rationally choose the most charming character in 'All Shook Up'.
ㄴ It's Dennis. In fact, I have greed the most for that character. If I were a boy, it was a character that 

I really want to do. Just like I really want to act as Sylvia now.

The reason you want to act as Sylvia is?
ㄴ She loves Jim but she expresses her heart that she cannot express, with a musical song. Dennis also has that kind of musical song. A musical song that shows his hidden feeling. Sandra doesn't have that kind of musical song because she like and fall in love suddenly. Dennis or Sylvia has behind story, therefore they have musical song that show their exact feeling. If I act that kind of character while singing, won't I be able to express the feeling naturally. There are not lots of drama about Sandra in the script, so I have to give the meaning personally.

Sandra has a feeling like a scene-stealer. The work itself is a bright tone, but when Sandra comes out it becomes more brighter.
ㄴ The director also requested it. Sandra is a stranger, but when Sandra came out even in the midst of gloominess, the atmosphere wanted to reverse. The village stranger is just Elvis and Sandra.

The most difficult thing while you act as Sandra is?
ㄴ I always listen to word 'Do it without thinking' while I'm acting as Sandra. Sandra is a stranger so, there has to be clear reversal every time she appears in the drama. It seems to be the most difficult in entrance for people that acts. Originally I heard they said to do it just like my appearance. It's because I want to do an acting that is meaningful and has story. That part is still a bit difficult.

Establish a history about Sandra?
ㄴ Sandra in the performance before this, was described as beauty of maturity and intelligent person. I'm more younger than the seniors that took Sandra role previously, so I didn't match with mature feel. So I try to create appearance of young Sandra. She's a newcomer in the society but enter with first job as curator. That workplace was the other area that broke her away from her hometown, and it's a job that needs her to always smile and be kind, so she became a lonely person. And she had uneasy feeling of beginner characteristic.

Sandra saw Elvis and hate him suddenly without any reason. So to make history my own way about that part, before coming to this village Sandra had a belated love for the first time and received hurt from a good-looking man. I'm establishing and acting as a woman that has complex towards good-looking man.

Actually I made a lot of meaning like this but it was really difficult when I heard comment 'do it thoughtlessly'. I understand well the meaning of seniors or director, but it's quite difficult part in entrance of first acting. If there's a career, I think that Sandra is 'functional character' and I would think about the advises naturally, but as it's my first performance, I had greed and I felt a bit difficult.

You've work experience as a singer, you seem to be used to stand on the stage.
ㄴ No. It's unfamiliar. My familiar with the stage itself, but until now the stage that I stand on is in front of camera not audience. I don't have many stage that communicate with audience. I'm familiar to communicate with camera. But musical is a stage that communicate with audiences, and it's my first time on this type of stage. I can see the expression of audiences that seat at the front row but I don't see them purposely. It's still unfamiliar to communicate, so I don't see them purposely in case I think of other things while acting. When I'm familiar, I want to create a stage that communicate while seeing audiences reaction.

Grand Theater Hongik University Art Center has a near stage and audience seat compared ro other theater.
ㄴ That's right. At first I was scared because audiences that sit at two front rows seem to look at me with raised eyes. I thought they're like that because I made mistake (laugh).

You met a character of pretty and charming image named Sandra. Next time, do you have greed to challenge with breaking away from external image or with serious song or acting?
ㄴ Of course I challenge in musical with that kind of greed. I want to communicate with audiences and improve my stage experience. My stage experience doesn't seem to increase when I stand on stage as Hello Venus. Camera technique is to be skilled. It's not established feeling about performance. Originally I made challenge because I had greed for musical genre. As I did a character with different image of mine, I don't think it won't support my performance part. I'm thinking that I can portray it as well as growing fully.

The charm of musical 'All Shook Up' is?
ㄴ It's a drama with overflowing 'love' that is needed the most by this generation. It's a work that can be watched regardless of gender. Actually my mother had watched the performance already and my nephews/nieces also will come to watch it. It's performance that can be enjoyed by anyone from kid until adult. It's a musical that talks about love without condition, so I hope many people regardless of gender and age will come to watch it.

We're curious about your next activity.
ㄴ I'll keep on challenging for musical. If I end this character well, won't I be able to meet the audiences with a more developed appearance. This performance has a total of 40 performances, but next time I want to try as Sandra again after 40 performances end. At that time, won't I be able to do better than now. This month, Hello Venus will release one more music track (Paradise). When the musical ended, we'll do activity on full scale.

ㄴ The fans came to watch it. They're also there to support. I'm very thankful. It seems that the fans that came to watch the first performance were really shocked. I really liked it as I can show part that I cannot show usually. Thank to fans, I'm getting the strength every time. I heard that there are people that reserved all 40 performances. I'm really thankful. And soon Hello Venus album also will come out, I want to tell them to wait.

[Interview] Hello Venus Alice "Musical is a 'chance' for me"

Her reversal charm is blowing up. Hello Venus Alice took action in her first musical debut with musical 'All Shook Up'. She is meeting the audience with her real name Song Joo Hee. We cannot smell girl group's fragrance from Song Joo Hee on stage.

Musical 'All Shook Up' is a jukebox musical packed with Elvis Presley's classics song. Before debuting, icon of generation Elvis Presley went to an unknown village and draw the developed story. It gathered subject of conversation early with casting of Infinite Kim Sung Kyu and Wheesung as Elvis, and Park Jung Ah as Natalie.

Song Joo Hee as Sandra is a character that infused energy into the story as intelligent museum curator. With real name Song Joo Hee, as much as she get started in front of public freshly, her determination and spirit are great.

- With what reason that you challenged for musical?

"Fantagio which is famous as actor agency is my agency. So I've been learning about acting since when I was a trainee. I also made appearance in web drama 'After School Lucky-or-not 2' and drama 'The Night Watchman's Journal' and etc. Musical is a field that do both acting and singing simultaneously so I thought that it'll be fun. Opportunity for audition came naturally and I the greed to do it appears."

- You're the youngest among actress that take Sandra role.

"Sandra is pretty, sexy and intelligent. She's an fantasy-like existence of all men in the village. After watching other seniors perform on stage in previous season, the age group of the character is high. I'm 27 years old but they see me as an idol, my way of speaking and appearance also seems to be more younger. I agonised a lot. So the given conclusion 'Let's not pretend to be older and life energy is accumulated forcefully.' I am setting up and acting as curator that just live her social life."

- Song and musical is different from vocalisation.

"I was used to singing song, so I underwent hardship in the beginning. Song is expressing emotion with technical. I throw away my breathing, I deliver my heart with giving the tremble of my voice but musical is different. As it is a stage song, my voice has to be loud and my pronunciation need to be accurate, I have to even express emotion. During audition, singing was more difficult than acting"

- You are natural on stage. It seems that you practise a lot.

"In the beginning, I put on many efforts. During acting I'm Sandra, but I 'm Song Joo Hee when I sing. While watching musical actress Jung Ga Hee unnie that was casted for same role, I received help. She makes the song as she wants from beginning until the end. I envy her strength to drag the song until the end. I'm learning a lot beside her. I'm still trying."

- Lead character Elvis enormously trying to win Sandra heart. What about your impression about working together with Kim Sung Kyu and Wheesung as Elvis?

"Wheesung oppa feels really like he follow Sandra around. The energy together is really good. He did the expression the he likes greatly, so I'm comfortable and grateful to act with him. Sunggyu oppa is cute. I think that he really is like Elvis than the feeling that he like Sandra. He somehow has feeling like a real neighbourhood star"

- When you act, what is the part that you take care the most?

"'All Shook Up' is a comedy genre. There are points that the audiences burst into laughter, at some point I become obsessed for laughter of  the auditorium. Unknowingly, I get to look whether the audiences laugh or not, and I got to discover that I'm trying to be funny. Now I have to practice for melting the whole play."

-What type of person is the actual Song Joo Hee?

"I always heard that I'm arrogant, quiet and looks cold. Maybe it's because I'm Hello Venus leader, so in public I always show my appearance of taking care and arranging the members. Originally my personality is easy-going. When unavoidable, I also whine to the younger one."

- The members came to support on the set.

"They cannot come during first stage because they have schedule. They are really sorry for that. They came and hand out rice cake and write letter one by one to all actors and staffs. I thought that indeed they are the best."

- Recently Hello Venus member Nara is receiving public attention.

"We debut on 2012, the struggling hard kids are seeing the light gradually. Nara and I are the oldest two in our team. I thought that it's a relief that the unnies are getting the seat quickly and are doing well."
